About this Puja
Kaal Sarp Dosha Nivaran Puja & Rudrabhishek at Srikalahasti Tirth Kshetra is a special Vedic worship. According to Vedic astrology, Kaal Sarp Dosha is traditionally associated with a planetary arrangement in which all the other planets fall between Rahu and Ketu in a birth chart. The ritual includes worship of Lord Srikalahasteeswara, Rudrabhishek and prayers for pacifying the astrological influences associated with Rahu and Ketu. The Puja is performed with the intention of seeking relief from obstacles, instability and negative influences and praying for peace, stability and progress.
Temple Significance
🛕Srikalahasti Tirth Kshetra, Srikalahasti, Andhra Pradesh 517644
Srikalahasti Temple, located in Srikalahasti, Andhra Pradesh, is an ancient and highly revered temple dedicated to Lord Shiva, worshipped here as Srikalahasteeswara. The temple is particularly renowned for Rahu-Ketu worship and traditional dosha-related rituals. It is also regarded as one of the important Pancha Bhoota Sthalas, representing the element of Vayu (air). History & Religious Significance The name Srikalahasti is traditionally associated with three devotees — Sri (spider), Kala (serpent) and Hasti (elephant) — who are believed to have worshipped Lord Shiva with great devotion. The temple has an ancient religious tradition, while its present monumental complex developed over different periods in the South Indian temple architectural tradition. Various dynasties, including the Cholas and Vijayanagara rulers, contributed to its expansion and development. Srikalahasti is especially revered for Rahu-Ketu worship and traditional rituals associated with Sarpa Dosha. Devotees visit the sacred temple to worship Lord Shiva and pray for relief from astrological obstacles, greater stability in life and spiritual well-being.
